The sixth annual Prep Baseball Report Future Games took place two weeks ago at Grand Park in Westfield, IN. There were more than 400 players in attendance and more than 250 college recruiters representing 135 colleges—130 of which were Division I. SS/RHP Mac Horvath (Rochester Century HS, MN) was recently named MVP for his performance, but it wasn’t the only notable one. Below are several players who stood out during the four days.
Leighton Banjoff, OF, Elyria Catholic HS, OH (2019)
Banjoff had hits in all three games and capped it off with a no-doubt home run to left-center field and triple on the last day. During the workout day, he ran a 6.91-second 60 and displayed a fluid, easy swing that had ball jumping off his barrel in BP.
Clark Burroughs, C, DeMatha Catholic HS, MD (2019)
Burroughs was an offensive machine for Team Mid-Atlantic at the Future Games, going 4-for-8 in three games with three triples and five RBIs. Burroughs is a physical catching prospect at 6-foot-3, 210 pounds and showed strength at the plate when he was able to extend on the baseball, driving the ball to the deep right center gap on each of his triples. Burroughs was also steady force behind the dish defensively, commanding the game well with his pitching staff and new faces. Burroughs ran a respectable 7.24 60 and got as low as 2.0 with his pop times during the workout day.
