Today, PBR Oklahoma will take an in-deep look at 2017 Edmond North Huskies.

Season Outlook

The 2017 Edmond North Huskies will bring back experience and talent with six returning position players and three returning pitchers, eight of whom have committed to play at the next level. The senior heavy club could be poised for a big year and a post season run.

On the mound, the Huskies will be lead by a pair of Division 1 commits, Sam Rainwater and left-hander Carter Randolph. Future NOC Enid teammates, Kaleb McCullough and Lawson Issacs, will also throw important innings as starters.  Sophomore left-hander Hunter Burnett has shown flashes of what it takes on the mound, and may throw some impact innings for the talented staff as well.  Overall, Edmond North will boast one of the deepest pitching staffs in the state.

Offensively, the Huskies boast a balanced attack with both power and speed.  Cowley College commit Alex Peterson and his brother, NOC Enid commit Clayton Peterson, will likely be the table setters, both possessing the ability to run well and hit for average. Behind them, Rainwater and left-handed hitting juniors Josh Soliz and Mason Carrier will supply the power in the middle of the order.

Defensively, the leaders will again be Clayton and Alex Peterson bringing speed, strong arms, and athleticism to the outfield. Gage Williams will likely take on most of the catching duties and provide some savvy from behind the dish. Newcomers, junior Ben MacNaughton and sophomore Karsten Menard, could be asked to fill a variety of roles on the infield along with senior Parker Tumelson.
