Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in each state. While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state.  

As 2017 comes to a close, PBR Oklahoma will recap the top 20 most viewed Oklahoma profiles. We are able to drill down into the data and track the number of reads thanks to Google analytics.

Today, we take a look at most viewed profiles #20-#16. 

 

Sam Thompson OF / Owasso, OK / 2019 A Texas Christian commit, the athletic and physical, 6-foot, 180-pound outfielder emerged on the workout day as a player to follow as he ran a 6.67 60-yard dash, threw 89 mph from the outfield, and had an exit velocity of 92 mph from the left side. At the plate, Thompson shows strength through the zone, and utilizes a short stride from a slightly crouched, balanced stance. His hands calmly load back after resting on his shoulder to start, and work fast through the zone on an uphill plane. His proportionally defined strength plays at the plate with some pull side power present. In the outfield, he bounces around with a twitchy first step that allows him to track down balls more easily.

Landon Grissom RHP / OF / Stonewall, OK / 2018 A 6-foot, 164-pound lean frame with quick twitch athletic actions. Pitches from an average-tempo, max effort delivery with advanced leg drive down the mound. Quick to the plate out of the stretch. Arm stroke is long in the back, comes through a high-3/4 slot, fast, whippy, loose throughout. Fastball sits 86-88, slight late arm-side run. Slider is a put-away pitch, 74-76 mph, late 10/4 shape with depth, one of the best in the class. Curveball sits 73-74 mph, 11/5 shape, late, inconsistent. Changeup has consistent late arm-side run, 77-81 mph.

Tyler Polk RHP / Duncan, OK / 2018 An Oklahoma State recruit, made a jump last summer from pitching in the high 80s to topping out at 94. He gets sink on his fastball and his sharp slider is 83. He pitches with a simple delivery that he repeats well and possesses a fast arm from a high-3/4 slot. He also shows some athleticism on the offensive side of the ball as well.

Connor Beichler SS / 2B / Owasso, OK / 2019 The Oklahoma commit is a 5-foot-10, 155-pound quick-twitch athlete and all around polished baseball player. Beichler is easily one of the best defenders in the state, showing elite range, sure hands, enough arm to stick at short at the next level, and an advanced baseball IQ. Offensively, the switch hitter plays to his strength with a flat, middle of the field approach, rarely swinging and missing especially from the right side, still developing consistency from the left. A 6.57 runner, plays even faster on the base paths, 3.82 and 3.85 down the line on bunts. One of the big standouts of the workout day at the Future Games.

Dominic Johnson OF / Edmond Santa Fe, OK / 2020 An Oklahoma State commit that stands 5-foot-10, 165-pound with quick twitch actions. Offensively, the right-handed hitter shows elite quickness in his hands and surprising pop from his frame. Quick on the base paths, Johnson runs a 60 in the low 6.8s. Defensively, shows off some developing arm strength with accuracy.
