July 19, 2024
With the conclusion of the 2024 Southeast Select at Lakepoint Sports. We have seen quick hit style notes from each day with video of the prospect. Now lets take a deeper look at some prospects that our scouts saw with full breakdowns of the players they saw.
Maddox Waller, C/3B/1B, Sequoyah HS (GA), 2026
Uncommitted. Impressive day at the plate on Thursday (7/11) morning as he continues his tear on the summer. Had a solid 2-for-3 day at the plate with a game tying RBI that was muscled into shallow left-field on a two strike count. The other knock came in his last at-bat, attacking early in the count on an outer-half breaking ball that he drove into right-center for a single. Moderately wide stance, hands held high, shifting slightly to begin his swing, generates good leverage using his size and strength to viciously hack at anything over the plate. Two-way athlete, a TE in football at 6-foot-3, 220-pounds.
Jihad Guy, OF/SS, Lakeside HS (GA), 2025
Uncommitted. Quick work on Friday (7/12) morning as he had an impressive day at the plate.Aggressive approaches that led to quick barrels. Went 2-for-2 with an opposite field triple into the right-field corner, and a pull-side single into left-field through the 5-6 hole. Twitchy hands, wide stance with a subtle leg-kick load and upper body torque that initiates his swing. Stays strong and physical in his lower-half, and rears his hands back to generate tension and power towards the ball. High follow as he looks to finish off the summer on a high note.
Jack Hamilton, 3B/1B/RHP, Milton HS (GA), 2025
Uncommitted. Strong day at the plate going 2-for-3 (7/13) with a pair of clutch line drives that both drove in runs. Quality approach from the left side, strong and physical lower half that generates loads of power and pop in the barrel. Stays low and wide, toe-tap load that creates anticipation for the pitch while also staying back and patient. Disciplined eye and a cut throat swing that displays an innate feel for the barrel. Creates good leverage throughout. Versatile 6-foot, 190-pound frame.
Austin Wittreich, OF/RHP, Riverside HS (OH), 2025
Uncommitted. Impressive first glance on (7/13), showcases an extremely wide and low stance, with balance and control throughout. On time for an upper 80’s FB that was pieced into center field early in the game. Exudes confidence before he steps in the box, physical, strong 6-foot, 190-pound frame. Aggressive approach with a ferocious cut, showcases the ability to hit anything out over the plate. Speedy guy with a 6.66, 60-yard dash. Finished the day 2-for-2 with a HBP and scored two runs. High follow.
Brodie Carter, SS/2B, Creekview HS (GA), 2025
Uncommitted. Advanced approaches on Saturday afternoon (7/13), displayed an innate feel for the barrel to all-fields with a simple swing. Separation from his hands that generate tension to initiate his load, and gains good momentum throughout to create solid contact. Drove a ball to deep right field that nearly got out of the yard, and then hacked at an early count fastball that fell into shallow left field for an RBI. Coming off an impressive spring for Creekview, and continues to flash the tools at the plate and in the field.
Carson Hoard, 2B/OF, Franklin HS (TN), 2025
Uncommitted. Hoard showed some exciting tools at the plate during pool play. His simple, relaxed approach produces plenty of power and consistent barrels. He left the yard with a loud pullside home run Saturday afternoon, flashing his power that he generates from his impressive hand speed and strong lower half. Hoard not only has some real pop, but he also has a great feel for the strike zone and is an on base machine. Hoard’s ability to generate high exit velocities without completely selling out makes him a consistent threat at the plate.
Cory Hoard, MIF, Franklin HS (TN), 2025
Uncommitted. Cory was just as impressive as his brother, Carson, at the plate on Saturday afternoon. Hoard showcased a true ability to hit any pitch in any count, having multiple 90+ exit velocity swings on 2 strike breaking balls. The loudest swing of the game was his double into the LCF gap that clocked in at 99.3 MPH. His natural hand speed and feel for the barrel makes him a very exciting power bat.
Ryan Johansen, MIF, Buford HS (GA), 2027
Uncommitted. Johansen was a standout performer on both sides of the ball Sunday for Service Baseball. He started off the day with a barrel to the backside gap for a RBI single, later following that up with another backside RBI hit. He then was brought in relief on the mound and absolutely delivered, sitting in the low 80’s with the fastball and showing a good 3 pitch mix. Johansen has some really high upside on both sides, and the 2023 Junior Future Gamer continues to build on his impressive summer.
Masin Hall, OF/3B, Lipscomb Academy (TN), 2025
Uncommitted. Hall was a standout performer in the early slot on Tuesday. He showed a good feel for the barrel and some impressive bat speed. Also, he showed some really impressive power for his projectable 5’9” 160 lbs, just missing a homerun in his second at bat of the game at 93.4 MPH exit velocity. Hall is an exciting follow for the upcoming spring as he should continue to build on his hit tool and add more power.
Austin Haas, C, Warrenton HS (MO), 2025
Uncommitted. Haas was a lightning rod out of the leadoff spot all week for Premiere Stevens. He showcased his electric speed in every one of his at bats, beating out several routine infield groundballs and turning them into hits. He was a threat to steal every time he was on base as well, and seemed to have real baserunning knowledge in his jumps and reads. Behind the plate, Haas had some real defensive prowess, controlling his pitchers and flashing a good receiving ability. He is a real threat at and behind the plate, and constantly puts pressure on the defense with his plus speed.
Logan Brown, RHP, Northview HS (GA), 2025
Uncommitted. On Monday Brown threw 5 no-hit innings with only 58 pitches to help send his team to bracket play. His fastball sat 84-87 and topped at 88 with great movement and late life, breaking ball sat around 75-78 that just fell off the table. He displayed a good feel for all pitches and executed them consistently. Does a great job creating leverage with a long arm path and lets his upper body work well with the arm.
Charlie Dewald, MIF, Morristown West (TN), 2025
Uncommitted. A ton of loud contact this week for Dewald who consistently turned on breaking balls and sent them to the outfield. When I saw him on Sunday he had two 90+ ev doubles. Smooth swing from the right side that generates a ton of power to all parts of the field. Very simple approach with an intimate feel for the barrel. Very intriguing name in the state of Tennessee in the class of 2025.
Easton Bailey, 2B/RHP, St.Pius X (GA), 2026
Uncommitted. On Saturday Bailey launched a fastball into to deep LCF that went over the wall for a 2 run bomb. He generates a ton of power from the lower half and gets the foot down early and attacks. He consistently hits the ball hard and has a ton of power to all parts of the field. Projectable frame at 5’9 160 with alot more room to fill out as he continues to develop and get stronger. Also a sub 7 runner.
Trey Windham, C/RHP, North Forsyth (GA), 2026
Uncommitted. Very smooth mechanics with a ton of bat speed and pop from the right side. On Friday he laced a breaking ball down the line in Left Field for a loud double. Consistently likes to attack early in the count with a simple approach each time. Easy bat speed and is able to keep the barrel through the zone for a long time.
Tristen Altman, SS/OF, Sequoyah (GA), 2024
Uncommitted. Generates a ton of power from the lower half and gets his hands to the ball quick. On Sunday he smoked a ball into deep left field for a standup double that left the bat at 88 exit velocity. Twitchy athlete in the box that has lots of power to all parts of the field. Due for a big senior year, Altman should be a name to look out for in the class of 2024.
Ari Bethea, RHP/OF, Collierville (HS) • TN, 2025
Tennessee commit and the #1 ranked pitcher in the 2025 class in the state of TN came down and flat out impressed at the Southeast Select. Opened up living 89-91 with incredible ride on the FB getting upwards of 23” of Induced Vertical Break which is truly off the charts at this age. Mixed in a sharp slider spinning it upwards of 2500+ RPM just completely kept the hitters off balance. Came into the summer as a Top 25 Helium Hopeful by Shooter Hunt and has impressed thusfar.
Leonardo Yoshioka , RHP, Rabun Gap HS, GA, 2025
Uncommitted, 6 foot 2 200 pound RHP from Rabun Gap HS had a coming out moment last night at lakepoint. Have had limited relief looks at Yoshioka this summer and has always flashed electric stuff but tonight his pitch was his CB that completely fell off the table and looked FB out of hand and stayed FB until 10 feet then died. Fastball lived in the upper 80’s topping out a 92 and had typical ride to it but just exploded out of the hand.
Jonah Winton, SS/2B, Model HS, 2027
Uncommitted. After seeing key time as a freshman for Model this spring, Winton has been on a tear this summer and kept the massive summer rolling right along over the course of Southeast Select, collecting hit after hit. Arguably the biggest performance came on both sides of the ball on Friday night. At the plate the hit-tool shined where the RHH picked up two loud barrels for hits. Showcasing a well-synced up swing with leverage to all-fields and an advanced ability to match plane. The easy bat-speed continues to stand out as everything off the bat is loud from Winton. Coming out of the pen it was loose and easy for the righty showing a dynamic two-pitch mix. With the fastball sitting at 84-86 and running it up to 87 with arm-side movement. Showed the curve at 70-71. The arm-speed stands out on the mound for the incoming sophomore and Winton made it clear that there is obvious two-way potential here.
Brantley Patch, 2B/RHP, Model HS, 2027
Uncommitted. Patch has been having a big summer on the mound and at the plate as well. The smooth swinging LHH delivered at the plate on Friday night. Collecting two hits back up the middle. Highlighting a well-connected swing with a mature middle-of-the-field approach at the plate with good leverage through the zone. The barrel control stands out with the ability to match plane at a high-level. A consistent performer that has gotten it done on both sides of the ball and will be another name to watch at Model in the Spring.
Denajh Williams, 2B/OF, Rabun Gap HS, 2025
Uncommitted. Williams had an unreal performance on the mound Saturday evening. Going the distance on 109 pitches and delivering a win for his team in a hard fought pitcher’s duel. Showed the ability to mix well keeping hitter’s off-balance and racked up eight strikeouts over seven innings, with a 4-pitch mix. FB: 84-86 inducing swing and miss. Showed an innate feel for spin as the curveball and slider were shown in the low to mid 70’s causing heavy swing and miss. Mixed in a change-up at 78-79. Williams embodies the term grit and the upside is very real on both sides of the ball for the incoming senior.
Landon Rudd, OF/RHP, Opelika HS, 2026
Uncommitted. The right-handed pitcher was electric in his start on Saturday evening. Working with a dynamic three-pitch mix and keeping hitters off-balance from the start. Rudd was able to generate double-digit whiffs and rack up eight strikeouts over 5.1 innings of work. With the fastball sitting 83-85 MPH with arm-side movement. The curveball created depth and was shown at 72-74 MPH and the slider at 74-75 with late-bite and a max RPM of 2579. Rudd exuded confidence on the bump and had complete trust in every pitch resulting in the stellar performance on the mound. The uncommitted right-handed pitcher will be a name to watch come August 1st.
Aiden Moore, SS/RHP, Hillgrove HS, 2026
Uncommitted. Moore showed some wicked stuff on Sunday night. Working with a dynamic three-pitch mix the right-handed pitcher picked up eight strikeouts over 4.2 innings of work. Showing the fastball at 85-87 MPH with 2400+ RPM and an eye-opening “22 IVB. The slider sat 77-80 MPH with 2600 RPM + and the curveball at 74-77 with 2500 RPM +. Moore showed an innate feel for spin with dynamic movement patterns on the three-pitch mix. The incoming junior is poised for a breakout year and will be a must watch name at Hillgrove in the spring.
Daniel Parker, SS/3B, Hillgrove (HS), 2025
Uncommitted. Parker had a great showing at the plate during this tournament. Has great power behind the ball With an athletic frame at 6’0” 165. Show off that projectile power on Monday with a home run to left field 317 ft 87 EV. Has great speed around the bases with getting an inside the park home run on Sunday. Easy bat speed with a strong lower body to get a lot behind the ball. Should be a great year for the upcoming senior.
Makai Williams, 1B/3B, Stewarts Creek (HS), 2027
Uncommitted. Williams had a great day at the plate Tuesday morning. Showed good patience at the plate with good timing in his swing to get good contact. Had two great hits to the left field gap for a total of 3 RBIs. Has a smooth swing with great power behind the ball and strong lower half.
Jack Levin, LHP, Jasper HS(IN), 2026
Uncommitted. Very dominant start of Tuesday to kickoff bracket play. He threw a seven inning complete game shutout with a no hitter through five innings. He came out controlling the zone with a fastball and curveball with an occasional change up. His fastball was 81-84, curveball was 69-71 with good break and his change up was 74-75. He was very efficient as he rarely got deep into counts and generated a lot of weak contact. Final stat line: 7IP/3H/0ER/1BB/3SO.
Cooper Hecklinski, OF, Walton HS(GA), 2026
Uncommitted. Very good first look of ‘26 Cooper Hecklinski on Sunday. He went 3-3 with 4RBIs and a walk. Has a very simple approach at the plate as he keeps everything quiet and keeps his hands back so he can be short and quick to the ball and drive his hands through the zone. Has a good feel for the barrel as he can go to all parts of the field when hitting. Has a very good frame at 6’1” 180 pounds with plenty of room to fill out and will add plenty of power as he continues to get stronger.
Josh Owens, SS/RHP, Providence Academy (TN), 2025
Uncommitted. Lanky and projectable 6’3” 165lb frame. Got a really explosive look at Owens in his start on the mound this event. Came out with a really heavy fastball/sinker with up to 18 inches of run to the armside at 85-88, top 89. Showed good feel to land it to both sides of the plate, though most of the misses were to the arm side as expected with that amount of run. Threw a tighter, sweeping slider at 75-77 with 8 inches of sweep to the glove side. Really projectable frame with an advanced east/west arsenal that overpowered hitters and induced weak contact.
Connor Sloane, OF/RHP, Lecanto High (FL), 2026
Uncommitted. Wiry and athletic 6’ even 175lb frame. Sloane came on in relief and offered up a really loud look despite some command struggles. He has a longer arm swing with a high ¾ slot delivery that he struggles to time up consistently, but the arm talent is certainly intriguing and projectable. In a fastball heavy outing, he worked the pitch 86-89, topping out at 90 with serious sink and run. Mixed in one slider at 78 with 2500rpm and a curveball at 72 with 2550rpm. Certainly an interesting 2026 to keep an eye on with some real projectability moving forward.
Andrew Henderson, 1B/RHP, Grand Junction (CO), 2026
Uncommitted. Henderson stands at a physically imposing 6’5” with serious strength in the 230lb frame. Really impressed in the look at him where he sent a missile over the left-field wall for a home run. Sinks down into the legs quite a bit in the loud with a strong lower half. Fairly compact swing with some serious bat speed and hand strength present. The power projection is intriguing and will continue to be fun to monitor as he matures with his approach and adds even more strength.
Desmond Taylor, OF/RHP, Newberry (FL), 2026
Uncommitted. Taylor stands at 6’ even with a wiry 175lb frame. Had solid performances in two looks at him throughout the week, where his athleticism and advanced run tool really stole the show. He put together good at bats, showing good feel for the barrel with some raw power present. He uses a compact swing and does a great job of getting the barrel on plane early and keeping it there throughout the swing. Some hand speed present with future projection still left. Good name to know in the 2026 class.
