With the 2018 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting mid-January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2018 Spring Team Preview: Wheelersburg Pirates

Team Name: Wheelersburg Pirates
Head Coach: Michael Estep
Division: III
2017 Record: 23-5
Conference Record: Southern Ohio Conference II, 13-1, 1st
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 6/4

Coach Outlook: “We return six starters and a group of young men who love the game. We have great team chemistry and look forward to being able to battle through a challenging Spring schedule which includes Jonathan Alder, Greenup County (KY), Adena, Jackson, and a solid conference lineup as well.”

PBR Outlook: The Pirates of Wheelersburg and head coach Michael Estep are always in consideration for the most likely team to make it to Huntington Park, and with the talented group they return in 2018, Columbus could be in their eyes for the end of the season. Look for the Pirates to be playing their best ball come tournament time and be a tough out for anyone.
