Carlisle middle infielder Skyler Kelly is beginning to talk to programs around Ohio.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound middle infielder shows the versatility to play several positions at the next level, and coaches are interested in making him a part of their program for the next four years.
"I have gotten phone calls from Theil, Mt Vernon, Ohio Wesleyan, Heidelberg and Otterbein. All of the schools have great baseball backgrounds and each coach I spoke with wants to keep there winning tradition going," he said.
So far, Kelly's travels have been limited.
"Ohio Wesleyan has been my only visit, but I have visit dates set up with Mt Vernon, Theil, Otterbein and Heidelberg and I have also gotten a couple emails from Bluffton asking about setting up a visit," he explained.
Kelly continued, "I have only met Coach Mott from Ohio Wesleyan ... I really liked the school and coach Mott was great."
The unsigned senior is weighing potential playing time and his role at his future college destination.
"Coach Mott told me if I kept working hard I could compete for shortstop right away. He also sent me a YouTube video a day after my visit of them beating Otterbein last year," Kelly said.
At this time, Kelly list Ohio Wesleyan as his leader, but quickly noted, "But I am looking forward to meeting with the other coaches also."
Kelly currently holds a 3.25 grade point average and a 18 on his ACT.
