While he may be in the middle of football season, Carlisle infielder Alec Turner still has his mind on the baseball field.
"I have been offered by Sinclair and UNOH," he noted.
The 5-foot-10, 185-pound prospect, who is best known for his stick, continued, "As a third baseman, I understand a lot of the money goes to pitchers and middle infielders. So, I'm taking my time visiting schools to see what best fits me and my families needs."
Not ready to pull the trigger, Turner is keeping his options open, but he is quick to speak about the positives related to his current options.
"Coach Hartman (UNOH) and Coach Dintaman (Sinclair) have been great! Both coaches have been honest with me on expectations and I really enjoyed the time I spent with both. They both have a lot of enthusiasm about their programs," he explained.
To date, Turner has also taken visits to Ohio University, Lipscomb, and Butler.
"At this time, I have two great offers. I'm going to visit a few more schools (Adrian, Mount Union, Ohio Northern, and Oakland) that I still have interest in," he added.
Over the past year and a half, Turner has committed himself to improving his game and physique, and the hard work has paid off.
Still, he isn't satisfied and continuing to keep his eye on long term success.
Turner concluded, "I have some work I need to do personally, after football season. My options are open, but most of all, I want to work as hard as I can and let the chips fall where they may."
