MADEIRA MUSTANGS SCOUTING NOTES
- Junior Andrew Benintendi (L/L, 5'10, 170) is one of the top players in Ohio for the Class of 2013. The Arkansas Razorback verbal is a solid 2-shot player and one of the most exciting offensive players in the Midwest high school region. Started last summer on the Midland Redskins Connie Mack championship team. Solid plus raw skills. Has plus grade foot speed and solid arm strength with carry. Can play all outfield positions. Solid range as centerfielder. Has excellent batspeed as a hitter with hand load & trigger, getting solid lower body torque. Has shown an increase of power and also puts the defense on their toes with his speed. Is a candidate to hit a triple with every at-bat. Has been very effective on the bump. Aggressive strike thrower with mid 80's fastball.
- Junior outfielder Zach Jansen (R/R, 5'10, 180) is part of Maderia's offensive wrecking crew. Although not as offensively gifted as his cousin Benintendi, Jansen has put up solid offensive credentials himself. Good bat speed. Makes solid contact with line drive power. RBI machine. Has good raw skills, average foot speed and playable arm strength.
