PBR: Why did you choose St. Joseph?
Long: St.Joseph seems like a great fit for me. I really liked the coaching staff and the players. You can tell that St. Joseph thrives on baseball.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Long: Hiedleberg, Ohio Wesleyan, Lincoln Trail
PBR: Where did the coaches first see you? How did your relationship develop with their coaching staff?
Long: They first seen me at their winter camp. Right away I could tell that each coach lived and breathed baseball. After the camp I received weekly calls which made a strong relationship.
PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?
Long: I am expected to come in and help anyway possible
PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that you will help St. Joseph baseball?
Long: I feel like I am very coachable. I am willing to do whatever it takes to better myself as well as better St. Joseph baseball.
PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?
Long: I play for the Napoleon River Bandits. Just being around the coaching staff and players that went on to win the state championship was an amazing experience. I learned so many things that I will take with me to the next level.
PBR: Now that you have your commitment out of the way, what are your goals both individually and for the team for the rest of your senior season?
Long: My individual goal is to make first team All-Ohio. For the team our goals are very high. We expect to have a great regular season, as well as have a deep run in the state tournament.
PBR: What were your stats for last spring season at Edon?
Long: ERA: 0.57 ER: 4 SO: 56 Record:7-0
PBR: Who is the toughest hitter that you have faced in Ohio?
Long: Matt Wisler
