Q and A with 2013 Toledo Commit: Jake Krupar (Canton Central Catholic HS)
September 9, 2012
Jake Krupar, OF, Canton Central Catholic HS, Class of 2013
PBR: Why did you choose Toledo?
Krupar: They offer my major, the campus is beautiful and the coaches and the way they run their program really appealed to me.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Krupar: Walsh University, Dayton, Malone University and Lake Erie College
PBR: You have made your commitment very early. Why did you chose to make your decision so soon and are you finished with the recruiting process?
Krupar: My parents and I decided a while ago we wanted to get it out of the way so I could concentrate more on my senior year of baseball without worrying about who I would sign with. Yes, I am finished with the process.
PBR: You recently attended PBR’s Top Prospect Showcase. How did that help you in the recruiting process?
Krupar: Many of the schools I was interested in were there including Toledo. So I can't speak highly enough of PBR they bring in everyone to help get you quality looks.
PBR: Now that you have your commitment out of the way, what are your goals both individually and for the team going into your senior season?
Krupar: Individually, no specific goals, just to play the game the way I know I'm capable of. My team goal is to win a district title, once you get that out of the way, anything is possible.
PBR: How does it feel to be a part of a Division 1 baseball program?
Krupar: It feels awesome. I'm so excited to be part of the Toledo family. They have a great team, great coaches and play in a great conference in the MAC.
PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?
Krupar: Ohio Elite. There were too many. It was my first season being a part of the OEB family and it seemed like every tournament was a blast. I couldn't ask for better teammates or better coaches.
PBR: What were your stats this spring season at Canton Central Catholic?
Krupar: .333 BA, 11 doubles, 4 triples and 23 RBI. I really struggled this spring but made a few adjustments and I'm back on track.
PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced in Ohio?
Krupar: Jonny Nottingham
