Q and A with 2013 Sinclair CC Commit: Ethan Bryant (Lakota East HS)
October 22, 2012
Ethan Bryant, INF, Lakota East HS, Class of 2013
PBR: Why did you choose Sinclair?
Bryant: I chose Sinclair because of their academic success, how strong the baseball program is, their location, it's not to far from home, but close enough that I could go home when I pleased. Coach Dintaman is a good dude, and I think i can excel in his program. It was just a right fit.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Bryant: A couple other schools that I was considering was Thiel College, Bellarmine College, Eastern Illinois, Indiana Tech, and Wabash.
PBR: Sinclair is known for sending many of their players to 4 year colleges. How much of a role did that play in your decision to go to Sinclair?
Bryant: It played a major roll in my decision, because I want to continue my education, and ball career at a future university. But like I said, Sinclair just felt like home.
PBR: Where did the Coach Dintaman first see you?
Bryant: He first saw me my freshman year at the field house. I did an individual work out with him. Since then we've talked a lot.
PBR: Sinclair is a national JUCO power. How does it feel to know that you will be playing for a national contender the next 2 years?
Bryant: I'm excited! Knowing that I have a high school state championship ring, and can't wait to put a national ring on my finger, for The Tartans.
PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?
Bryant: I'll be able to come in and compete for a starting role. Good thing about it is, I play multiple positions, and am excited to have the opportunity.
PBR: What team do you play for in the summer?
Bryant: Last year, I played for the Cincinnati Baseball Club Blackhawks (Coach Daniel), this upcoming summer I will be playing for the Northern Cincinnati Chiefs (Coach Cundy).
PBR: What was the most memorable experience from this summer?
Bryant: The CABA World Series (Euclid, Ohio), Had a great Tournament, finally felt like I broke out after a long year of baseball.
PBR: What were your stats this spring season at Lakota East?
Bryant: The spring season for me was a battle on and off the field, didn't fare as well as I would have liked, but the summer came, and my game picked up.
PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced in Ohio?
Bryant: I would have to say the Mason boys. Their staff is just dirty. But I can’t to wait to compete.
