Preseason Preview: Cincinnati La Salle HS

Cincinnati La Salle is coming off a 12-11 campaign in 2012, and looking to build a successful 2013 season with a blend of upperclassmen and underclassmen. Last year in the Great Catholic League, Coach Voegle's squad finished fourth last year with a 3-7 record.
This spring, La Salle returns plenty of experience with five starters. Coach Voegle believes his team's strength will be based upon a deep lineup along with solid experienced pitching. The following players figure to play prominent roles in La Salle's success.
Class of 2013
- OF/RHP Brad Burkhart - The 5-foot- 11, 200-pound senior has signed with the University of Dayton. He earned first team all GCL honors in 2012.
- OF Tyler Haubner - 5-foot-9, 150-pound left-handed hitting senior earned second team all GCL honors in 2012.
- OF Connor Speed - 5-foot-10, 170-pound left-handed hitting senior hit .314 and earned honorable mention all league in 2012.
- IF Bailey Abbatiello - 5-foot-11, 180-pound senior infielder earned first team all league honors on 2012.
- RHP Paul Spaulding - 5-foot-11, 160-pound righty went 4-1 with a 3.8 ERA to earn honorable mention all league in 2012.
- RHP Ken Ruberg - 6-foot, 170-pound righty compiled a 3.24 ERA while striking out 18 batters over 22 innings in 2012.
Class of 2014
- Catcher Jake Morgan - 5-foot-10, 190-pound junior hit .250 as a sophomore last year.
- IF/RHP Eric Schrand - 5-foot-9, 185-pound righty went 2-0 with a .88 WHIP and .72 ERA last year.
- SS Cameron Bouldin - 6-foot-2, 180-pound infielder with plenty of potential.
Class of 2015
- C/IF Nigel Williams - 5-foot-9, 180-pound possess a solid bat and versatile skill set.
- IF/OF Anthony Bell - 5-foot-11, 190-pound is an exceptional all around athlete with an explosive bat.
