PBR Spotlight Game: No. 18 (DI) Thomas Worthington vs. Olentangy Liberty

On Monday, Thomas Worthington beat Olentangy Liberty with a score of 2-1, to take a one game lead in the OCC Central. Today, Coach Gussler would send unsigned senior Roscoe Blackburn (pictured) to the mound to help capture a another title.
The Cardinals would jump out to an early lead when they scored two runs in the top of the first inning led by a Nick Highley single and a misplayed bunt by Emmerson Keppler (Mount Union recruit). Both would score later on in the inning.
Over the next three innings would muster two runs to help tie the game. This was highlighted by a Max Gunn (Thiel recruit) rbi single that would score Danny Kirchner.
The score would stay knotted at two runs until the top of the 5th inning when outfielder, Sam Ankrom led off the inning with a single. After being moved over on a sacrifice bunt, Ankrom would score on a double by Highley. A single by shortstop Ben Miller would add another run for the Cards.
The production was still not over with Miller standing on second, Keegan Lanter would lace a triple right center to score Miller. Lanter would score two pitches later on a passed ball to give Thomas Worthington a 6-2 lead.
The 4-run 5th inning would knockout Patriot starter, Mitchell Griffiths.
In the sixth inning both teams would trade runs to make it a score of 7-3.
Blackburn continued to cruise the Patriot lineup and would complete the game, giving up only five hits and striking out eight batters.
Thomas Worthington improves their record to 20-6, while Olentangy Liberty drops to 18-7.
