PBR Spotlight Game: #4 Westerville Central vs Westerville South

WESTERVILLE, OH – After receiving their first two losses of the season this past weekend, Westerville Central got back on the winning track by defeating OCC foe Westerville South by a final score of 13-2 in a run ruled shortened game.

With a plethora of D1 prospects to choose from, on this day, Coach Keifer would send out junior, Danny Kreuzer (Wright State commit) to take the hill. While, Westerville South countered with right-hander Jake Calvin.

From the first pitch of the game it was all Warhawks, as the first three hitters reached base.

Noah West (Ohio State commit) singled, Austin Kondratick singles and Kreuzer helped his own cause, by driving both of them in with a 2-run single to give them a 2-0 advantage.

The visitors would add another crooked number in the top of the second, when Austin Evans, Kyle Keifer and Zach Dahman (Wilmington commit) all reached base via base hit or an error. All three would later cross the plate for a 5-0 lead.

After going scoreless for the first two innings the home team Wildcats finally got on the scoreboard when Vincent Murdock ripped a 2-run single to cut the deficit to 5-2.

However, for the rest of the game Warhawks had complete control. They would take a comfy lead of 13-2 by tacking on three runs in the fourth inning and another five runs in the fifth inning to finish the day.

Danny Kreuzer, was on cruise control for the rest of the afternoon. He completed the shortened day, going five inning giving up only five hits and striking out 10 batters with an array of off-speed pitches and a overpower fastball.

Westerville Central has upped their record to 18-2-1, while Westerville South falls to 3-11.
