PBR Ohio started up on May 3rd, 2011 as seen here. From that day, Chris Valentine has had a goal to promote high school baseball in Ohio at the highest level possible. Chris has been able to do this thanks to the help of parents, coaches, and the talented players throughout the state of Ohio.

Chris has also built a staff that has the drive to make Ohio one of, if not the top viewed website for Prep Baseball Report as well as put on some of the best showcases in the nation to help promote the high school talent that resides in the Buckeye State.

Dylan Hefflinger, PBR Ohio Editor in Chief/NW Scout, along with JD Heilmann, PBR Ohio Director Scouting take a look back at the year in review and put together a list of the top stories for 2015.

To start off the countdown, we have chosen a write-up on a prospect that showcased his talents across the nation in 2015, Cal Conley.

PBR Ohio's Top Stories for the Year 2015: 2018 Cal Conley Taking Talents to Miami

As a 2018 shortstop in Ohio, already committing to Miami (FL) while heading into just his sophomore year of high school is something that is not seen all too often.

But that is the case for talented middle infielder Cal Conley.

The switch-hitting prospect from Cincinnati Loveland was already a known commodity heading into the year 2015, but after his performance at the 2015 Top Prospect Games, the nation took notice.

After performing well at the TPG, Conley headed off with the Midland Redskins during the summer where the shortstop performed admirably.

In August, JD Heilmann released the first look at PBR Ohio's 2018 Player Rankings. Conley just narrowly missed the top spot as fellow 2018 prospect Nicholas Northcut took home the No. 1 position in the initial rankings as seen here.

After a strong summer campaign, PBR's national scout Nathan Rode started hearing about some big time interest in Conley.

In a piece written on October 30th, Rode talked about the switch-hitting shortstop.

"The No. 2 prospect in Ohio’s 2018 class, SS Cal Conley (Loveland HS, OH) is seeing his share of interest from major Division I programs. The left-handed hitter recently received offers from Arizona State and Miami (FL), adding to earlier offers from Florida International, Louisville and Richmond. He has also received interest from Arkansas, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and Vanderbilt."

Less than two months later, Conley committed to Miami (FL) as seen here.

Conley chose the Hurricanes over some of the top schools in the nation in Arizona State, Vanderbilt, Louisville, Missouri, Texas, TCU, Florida International, South Carolina and Wichita State.

With three more years of high school baseball left for Conley, it is safe to say the best is yet to come for the switch-hitting shortstop from Loveland.
