Columbus North High School (IN)
+ Jakob Meyer, RHP, 2019
Evansville commit. 6-foot-3, 205 pound frame. Drop and drive delivery. Short arm swing, ¾ slot. Fastball held 85-86 in the first, settling in at 83-85. Has feel for the breaking ball: Low 70’s, 11/5 shape with late depth. Pitched five innings, allowing seven hits, three walks while striking out six. Threw 97 pitches, 63 for strikes.
+ Grant Trinkle, OF, 2020
Kentucky commit. Athletic 5-foot-9, 172 pound frame. Ranked No. 9 in Indiana’s 2020 class. The leadoff hitter went 3-4 against Libertyville (IL) Friday evening. Athletic setup from the right side of the box. Uses a controlled leg lift and compact swing which generated quick bat speed. Quick arm in the outfield with plenty of carry on his throws.
+ Blake Huffman, OF, 2021
Uncommitted. 5-foot-7, 170 pound muscular frame. In the fifth inning, sat back on a breaking ball, driving the ball off the left-field foul pole (325 feet) to tie things up 4-4. Slightly open setup from the right side with a leg lift timing trigger. Shorter bat path with some twitch in the swing.
+ Hayden McDaniel, OF, 2021
Uncommitted. 6-feet, 160 pound frame. Hit a 2RBI line drive double in the sixth. Hits from a balanced setup, short stride. Shorter bat path, pull-side type hitter with rhythm throughout the swing.
Edwardsville High School (IL)
+ Collin Salter, RHP, 2020
Uncommitted. 5-foot-11, 165-pound right-hander, wiry-thin frame. Highly competitive mound demeanor, strike-thrower with an advanced breaking ball. Carved up a physical Gull Lake squad in throwing a three-hit complete game. Utilized his slider early and often to rack up 13 strikeouts to only one walk while pounding the strike zone at a 67 percent clip (97 pitches). Often worked backwards, showing an 80-82 mph fastball, then putting away hitters with a slider that ranged between 70-73 with late lateral break. Sometimes toggled the shape and speed of his slider, flashing a 67-69 mph slurve. Both breaking balls had advanced spin, ranging between 2,500-2,769, per Trackman data. Salter started the game by punching out five in the first two innings. Athletic delivery, repeats well, on-line, high-3/4 slot, clean arm swing in the back, athletic out front. Works the lower quadrant of the zone, around the zone with everything.
