Maumee at Defiance - 5/11/18

By: Dylan Hefflinger
PBR Ohio Editor in Chief / NW Scout

Zach Marvin 1B / Maumee, OH / 2020

Report: Looks to be in the 5-11/6-foot range range and around 175-pounds. Left-handed hitting first baseman who batted in the three-hole for a junior/senior laden Maumee club. Smooth stroke at the plate. Shows good baseball instincts. We will look to follow Marvin more throughout the summer and hope to see him at a showcase.

Oregon Clay vs Toledo St. John's Jesuit - 5/7/18

By: Chase Antle
PBR Ohio Intern

Zachary Meeker SS / 2B / St John's Jesuit, OH / 2019

Report: Meeker is a 2019 RHP/SS with an athletic, muscular, tall build. He shows potential as both a pitcher and a shortstop at the next level but really stuck out for his presence on the mound. With plenty of room to grow, Meeker showed the ability to control three pitches during his two innings of work. During this appearance he showed a downhill heavy fastball with late life. His slider was his put away pitch which featured a 3/8 break which caught hitters off guard. At the plate, he had an approach every time and was able to hit the ball where it was pitched. He showed a violent, compact swing during the game and found success using all fields. Meeker is a player to keep an eye on in the months to come.
