Scouting Report
6/6/17
A right-handed hitter that starts in a taller setup. Moves his hands back during his short stride forward. Natural tools are there. Bat speed was well above average and barrel stays through contact well. Middle of the lineup type guy. Behind the plate he starts in a higher crouch. Mechanically sound. Footwork has room to get quicker. Transfer skills are solid. Arm action is ideal for the position.
60-yard dash: 7.09
Catcher Velocity: 72
Pop Times: 2.06-2.15
Exit Velocity: 87
1/22/17
6-foot-1, 175-pound prospect. At the plate the righty create energy with his lower half through and aggressive stride and well timed weight shift. Strength and bat speed are both well above average tools. Showed the ability to produce backspin to both sides of the field on his line drives. Starts in a wide stance with his feet outside his shoulder. Uses a quick jab step to the outside of his body and squares back up. Transfer is quick to his ear. Short arm action through high ¾ slot.
8/2/16
6-foot-1, 175-pound athletically built catching prospect. Catch and throw skills are impressive as he registered pop times of 1.95-2.01. Footwork and transfer are both quick and efficient. Arm was accurate as he threw with 75 mph arm strength from home plate. Very competitive and plays with an edge to him. Tough kid that had no problem blocking in games. At the plate he gets his lower half involved through a leg kick load and well timed weight shift. Bat gets through the zone with much more batspeed then his 78 mph exit velocity would indicate. Showed impressive pop to his pull side.
6/7/16
6-foot-1, 175-pound, strong, projectable frame. Starts in a tall setup before using a leg kick load and controlled stride to incorporate his lower half. Hands stay simple during his forward movement before taking a short, compact path to the ball. A strong kid who consistently barrelled up the ball in batting practice. Topped out at 80 mph for his exit velocity and ran a 6.9 60-yard dash. Worked out behind the plate and at third base but has more upside behind the plate. Has flexible hips with above average receiving skills. Footwork and transfer are both adequate. An unorthodox throwing motion but was able to throw accurately with 78 mph arm strength to second base.
2/20/16
A young, talented prospect with an athletic build at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds. Behind the plate he starts in a low, athletic crouch before doing a good job of gaining ground toward second base on his transfer. Pop times ranged from 2.09-2.22 and he threw with 74 mph arm strength to second base. At the plate the right-hander starts tall and uses a leg kick load to initiate his lower half. Would like to see him be more explosive with his lower half during the launch phase of his swing. Bat gets through the zone on a slightly downhill path with some quickness to it. Registered a top exit velocity of 78 mph and ran a 4.31 from home to first.
