Top Arms from the Diamond League Summer Showcase
Alex Gray, RHP/OF, Strongsville, 2017
Scouting Report: 5-foot-9, 150-pound thin body frame with room to fill out. He plays summer baseball for the Strongsville Stingrays. In the outfield He shows good footwork carrying momentum through the baseball into a good crow hop. He throws from a clean arm action coming through an upper ¾ slot reaching a velocity of 82 mph on his throws. Right-handed hitter starts from a balanced stance, uses a leg kick for power. He uses a slight load with this hands and showed the ability to use all parts of the field during his round of BP. He ran a 7.05 60-yard dash. On the mound he uses regular effort to his delivery. He throws using quick arm speed coming through a ¾ slot. His fastball was consistently 83 mph. He throws his curveball with 11/5 tilt showing signs of being sharp at 68-71 mph. He mixed in a changeup with good fastball arm speed at 75-76 mph.
