CINCINNATI - It wasn’t a matter of IF Griffin Merritt would play Division I college athletics. It was a matter of WHICH sport it would be. The Cincinnati LaSalle senior 3-sport athlete has made that decision, recently committing to play baseball at the University of Cincinnati. “I’ve been in a family where my dad and grandpa liked both,” Merritt said about his college options of baseball or football (he sat out basketball a year ago and is still undecided about playing this year) . “But I just wanted to play baseball in college. I love the game of baseball more.”
