With the start of the fall signing period upon us, JD Heilmann, the director of scouting for PBR Ohio, breaks down the top recruiting classes based on in-state prospects. We already did a three-part series examining the recruiting hauls of Ohio’s Division I programs. For this one we take a look at the recruiting classes for Division II programs within the state. Beyond the surface, we drill down deeper into immediate impact players, sleepers in the class, and other behind the scenes information that went into a player choosing their college program.
Over the next two weeks, we will also breakdown the in-state recruiting hauls for Division III, NAIA, and JUCO programs.

If you are a senior, it isn't too late. College programs are still looking. Make sure you check out our Unsigned Senior Showcase on December 6th by clicking here.
ASHLAND SNAG FOUR ARMS AND TWO OUTFIELDERS
Once again Ashland and head coach John Schaly is pulling together a solid class, filling their needs of arms and outfielders. The Eagles snagged five out of their six commits from the Unsigned Senior Games at Wright State in August.
Right-handed pitcher Alex Barnes (Strongsville) is a 6-foot-4, 200-pound prospect that came on the recruiting scene early last fall with the Ohio Elite. Equipped with a low-to-mid-80s fastball, Barnes is still learning how to utilize his lower half and figures to have his best days on the mound in front of him.
