Lake Erie's 2013 In-State Recruiting Class

With the fall signing period starting on November 14th, PBR Ohio will be taking a look at the number of players from Ohio headed to a college program within the state’s borders. Already, we broke down the in-state recruiting classes for the Division I programs located in Ohio. Now, we move on to the Division II level.

LAKE ERIE

Coach McGee has put together another strong class. Once again, he has stayed close to home and plucked some of the top talent from Northeast Ohio.

The top arm in the class may come in the form of Strongsville right-handed pitcher Austin Previt, whoPrevit showed a big jump this fall with his fastball sitting in the upper 80's.

Next, Amherst right-handed pitcher Shawn Reid may be the most polished pitcher in the recruiting class. But, he faces a tough recovery back from Tommy John Surgery.

Coach McGee dipped into the Queen City and picked up Moeller's 6-foot-4, 210-pound right-handed pitcher Andrew Cobb. The big righty possess a mid 80's fastball that rises into the upper 80's.

The last arm in the class comes in the form of Elyria Catholic right-handed pitcher Chris Tomshack, who shows some life on a mid 80's fastball. With the development of an out pitch, he could prove to be an effective pitcher at the next level.

For position players, Coach McGee pulled in local talent in the form of Nordonia's Billy Smith, who show's some surprising pop at the plate for his size, and Wadsworth's Jack Pecnick, an athletic prospect with plus speed. The top position player in the class may come in the form of Luke Raley from Highland High School in Medina. The left-handed hitting prospect shows exceptional skills at the plate and the ability to play multiple positions.
