With the 2019 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting in January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2019 Spring Team Preview: James Ford Rhodes Rams

Head Coach: Brian McHolland

2018 Record: 13-4
Conference Record: Senate Athletic League, 10-0, (1st)
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 4/2

2019 Team Strengths:

  • Leadership
  • Defense
  • Base Running
  • Pitching
  • Hitting

Coach Outlook: "Will be a rebuilding year. We are hoping a few of the young guys can step in and help fill the spots we lost such as catcher. I do feel like we will be competitive in our league, but will not contend for a state title."

PBR Outlook: Coach Brian McHolland says 2019 will be a rebuilding year, but one they expect to compete for a league title. Look for the Rams to get better as the year goes on.

  • Alex Soto, C/CF 2019, 5-10 165 pounds, 2 year starter, team captain,  Stats: .375 8 2B, 3 3B, 17 BB, 17 RBI's, 31 Runs, 18 SB
