PBR: Why did you choose Ball State?
McCarty: I chose Ball State because I really liked the campus and coaching staff. I felt like their goals for me are the same as my goals for me also they are a competitive program that has a good history of winning and developing pitchers.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
McCarty: Marshall, EKU, NKU, Belmont, Morehead State, Youngstown State,
PBR: How does it feel to be a part of the Cardinal family?
McCarty: It feels great to be a part of the Cardinal family I can't wait to start working with all of the coaches.
PBR: Now that you have your commitment out of the way, what are your goals individually as you prepare for your senior season?
McCarty: I would like to be more consistent with my pitches and velocity this year, so I can be a real contender at the next level.
PBR: How does it feel to be a part of a Division 1 baseball program?
McCarty: It feels surreal, a dream come true. I've always wanted to play at the highest level and I'm getting an opportunity to.
PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?
McCarty: I play for CBC Elite black and my most memorable moment is making the top 64 teams in the WWBA tournament in Georgia.
PBR: What person has the great impact on your baseball career and why?
McCarty: My parents for always pushing me to be better and supporting me and taking me to practices all these years. Coach Beerman for believing in me and doing everything he could to get me recruited and have schools back there to watch me. Greg Williams for being a great pitching coach and helping me get better every time I throw and believing in me. All past coaches for helping me get where I am today.
PBR: Who is the best pitcher that you have ever faced?
McCarty: Trevor Pittman
