Colin Hohman, C, Trinity HS, Class of 2017

PBR: Why did you choose Northern Kentucky?

Hohman: I chose Northern Kentucky because it felt like home right away. Coach Asalon has all the great values you would want a coach to have. Also the players were extremely welcoming and I could tell right away that there was a positive and humble culture at NKU.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Hohman: I was considering Walsh University, Central Michigan University, Coker College, Lincoln Memorial University, Baldwin Wallace, and Mount Union

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you and how did your relationship develop?

Hohman: I played a few games in the summer at NKU but my relationship with Coach Asalon really developed through my catching coach John Massarelli and after going on my visit I knew by meeting with Coach Asalon he was the coach I wanted to play for, for the next 4 years.

PBR: How does it feel to be a part of a Division 1 baseball program?

Hohman: It is such a special feeling knowing I am going to be part of Division 1 program it’s a dream come true. I have had a goal to play division 1 for years and knowing I now have the opportunity makes me want to work harder to do everything I can to help my future teammates.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?

Hohman: I played for Ohio Elite last summer on Coach Rob McNerney's team. The most memorable experience from this past summer was seeing the recruiting process unfold among all my best friends on my team it really was fun and exciting to see all my teammate’s dreams come true.

PBR:  What person has the great impact on your baseball career and why?

Hohman: My dad and Coach Rob McNerney have had a huge impact on my baseball career they have taught me how to play the game the right way, how to be a man, and most importantly how to be a good teammate.

PBR: You have participated in numerous PBR events, how did you performances help you in the recruiting process?

Hohman: My performances at PBR events helped a lot because when I needed to send film and measurables to NKU and other schools I was looking at it was as simple as sending my PBR profile which helped me a lot.

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced?

Hohman: The toughest pitcher I have faced would be Jarrett Edwards who is now at George Washington University.
