Bryan Yoder, C, Hiland HS, Class of 2017
PBR: Why did you choose Malone?
Yoder: It felt like the right choice for me, as well as financially, and I will have the opportunity to catch my brother clyde which will be a lot of fun.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Yoder: Mercyhurst, Malone, Northwood, ODU, Walsh, Notre Dame College, Lake Erie, Morehead State, and MVNU.
PBR: Where did the coaches first see you compete and how did your relationship develop with the rest of the coaching staff?
Yoder: Both coaches have watched me play countlessly since my sophomore year. They have been very nice to me and my family ever since.
PBR: What role does the coaching staff expect you to play during your first year on campus?
Yoder: The door is open for me to compete for varsity minutes, hard work will determine that.
PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?
Yoder: My Dad has put countless hours, and money into my baseball career, and has taught me so much along the way. I wouldn't be the player I am today without him. Secondly, there is too much to put in to words what my HS coach Tom Gibson has done for me on and off the field. He is like no other coach out there.
PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was your most exciting experience playing summer ball?
Yoder: I play for the Brownlee Lookouts. My favorite experience was probably beating the Diamond hit club in extra innings to advance to the final four in buckeye elite. There is no feeing better than beating the cockiest team I've ever played against, we won despite them picking up several D1 commits Just to play that game to help them advance.

Yoder: That's either got to be submarine pitcher Tyson Gingerich, or low 90's lefty Seth Lonsway (OSU Commit)
