Inside the Recruitment: '16 RHP Eric Mullet commits to Malone

PBR: Why did you choose Malone?
Mullet: Malone is the right size and distance for me. I believe that their baseball program is also one of the best in D2. Overall, it was the best fit for me.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Mullet: MVNU and Walsh
PBR: Where did the coaches first see you compete and how did your relationship develop with the rest of the coaching staff?
Mullet: At a showcase at Massilon Washington held by Nick Vinuto. From there on they saw me at a couple other showcases. I was contacted by Kyle Hallock their pitching coach. We talked then throughout my junior season. Then this fall I visited the school, spent the night, and met with the coaches.
PBR: What role does the coaching staff expect you to play during your first year on campus?
Mullet: They expect me to fight for a pitching spot on varsity.
PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?
Mullet: My parents. They have pushed me my whole life to become who I am. Both in baseball and who I am as a person.
PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was your most exciting experience playing summer ball?
Mullet: I now play for the Brownlee Lookouts. But my freshman and sophomore years I played for my high school summer team. My most exciting experience was playing in the regional tournament in Peru, IL in both those years.
PBR: What were your stats last season?
Mullet: Spring Season- 42 innings, 7-0, ERA: 0.00, High 40s in strikeouts, 2 Walks
