Inside the Recruitment: '15 RHP Clay Grubb commits to Ohio Dominican
October 15, 2014
Clay Grubb, RHP, McComb HS, Class of 2015
PBR: Why did you choose Ohio Dominican?
Grubb: I really like the small campus atmosphere, they had my major and I liked that the program was doing well and moved up to DII.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Grubb: Ohio Northern, Toledo
PBR: Where did Ohio Dominican first see you? How did your relationship develop with Coach Page?
Grubb: Ohio Dominican first saw me at Wright State.
PBR: Coach Page has made Ohio Dominican a baseball powerhouse. What will it be like to play under the legendary coach?
Grubb: I'm looking forward to playing for him and also contributing to the team. I'm also excited to improve my pitching game with Coach Page.
PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?
Grubb: I think the coaches expect me to grow as a pitcher.
PBR: What summer team do you play on and how has travel baseball helped your development as a player?
Grubb: I played on Ottawa Legion Post 63. This helped my development because what worked in the spring against school teams didn't exactly work against summer teams and I had to learn and adjust from what I was doing.
PBR: What was the most memorable experience from this summer?
Grubb: Traveling to Tennessee to participate in a tournament.
PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?
Grubb: My dad.
PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced in Ohio?
Grubb: The toughest pitcher I have faced in Ohio that I know of would be Alex Harter.
