PBR: Why did you choose Ohio Dominican?
Roth: I feel comfortable there. I like the coaches and they made me feel welcome. The campus and school life is amazing and it's a plus that it's close to home.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Roth: Lake Erie, Findlay, Heidelberg
PBR: Where did Ohio Dominican first see you? How did your relationship develop with Coach Page?
Roth: They first saw me at a PBR event. I visited the campus several times after that and attended an ODU prospect camp. I was able to talk to Coach Page several times and learn his coaching philosophies.
PBR: Coach Page has made Ohio Dominican a baseball powerhouse. What will it be like to play under the legendary coach?
Roth: I'm very excited to play under Coach Page, there will be high expectations for me and I plan on bettering myself as a player and make an impact on the program.
PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?
Roth: To be a solid defensive corner outfielder as well as having power at the plate and driving in runs, impacting the program immediately.
PBR: What summer team do you play on and how has travel baseball helped your development as a player?
Roth: I play for the 18u Midwest Prospects. Travel ball is a great opportunity to see great competition at the highest level.
PBR: What was the most memorable experience from this summer?
Roth: This past summer I played for the Cincinnati Baseball Club (CBC). The most memorable moment was knocking in the game winning run in the top 25 Perfect Game qualifier.
PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?
Roth: Tony Maccani. Tony has helped me develop as a ball player both physically and mentally. He has been a major positive influence on me as well as my swing.
PBR: What were your stats for this spring season?
Roth: I batted .421 with 40 hits, 22 runs, 19 RBI's and 10 doubles.
PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced in Ohio?
Roth: Nick Bennett. He's a big lefty with good velocity and a hammer curve ball.
