After a strong summer, which included appearances at the Top Prospect Games and Unsigned Senior Games, North Canton Hoover senior catcher Will Haueter is beginning to take his visits.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound receiver is focusing on four schools: Ashland, Northern Kentucky, Malone, and Akron.

"I visited Ashland on the 7th and I am going to NKU on the 11th. I plan on visiting Malone soon as well," he said.

Haueter breaks down his thoughts on the four schools:

Ashland - "I like that they always compete to win in the GLIAC and that Coach Schaly has been there a long time. I would be able to compete to play right away. I've heard great things about the campus. Also, my high school head coach, Jeff Hite, is a hall of famer there and it would be quite the honor to follow in his foot steps. Coach Schaly and I have emailed back and forth quite a bit recently. He seems like a great guy and I really like that he's been at Ashland for so long. Definitely a guy I could trust as my head coach."

Northern Kentucky - "A really intriguing situation for me. Northern Kentucky is the northern most team in their conference so I'll be able to play in the south, which is what I've wanted to do for a long time. Coach Asalon is a former catcher and it would be great to learn from him and develop as a catcher. Can't complain about an all turf field either. Coach Asalon and I have talked on the phone a couple of times and I really liked the things I've heard about him and his program."

Malone - "A program that really seems it is starting to get serious about winning. Very close to home and a new stadium in the works. Would be awesome to develop under Coach Crank and hitting coach John Massarelli. Another place to come in and compete right away. Coach Crank has seen me play multiple times and is a class guy. It's definitely cool to see how hard he's recruited the area I live in. I've built a great relationship over the years with John Massarelli from working out at Massarelli Baseball School. I'm very close with him."

Akron - "Interesting situation. I have three former teammates currently at Akron. Would be great to play with them again. I have always liked the coaching staff there. Kind of a work in progress as they want to see me play a little more. Coach Rembielak and Coach Worth are both great guys. I've been able to talk in person with them multiple times at camps and such. Would enjoy playing for them."

Heading into his vists, Haueter has one school at the top of his list.

"As of now, I would say NKU is my leader. I'm weighing all my options heavily and hopefully will find a great home for the next four years."
