Amendola Finds The Right Mix At Lafayette

CHAGRIN FALLS - Finding the right mix of athletics and academics has been the goal for Jack Amendola and the senior-to-be at Chagrin Falls believes he has found it. A commitment to Lafayette College has the 5-10 170-pounder looking forward to the challenges ahead at the Division I school that competes in the Patriot League along with the likes of Army, Navy and Bucknell. “I’ve been looking for a school I can put myself in the best position to be successful in college and what follows after college,” noted Amendola, a 3.9 student who plans to major in either business or finance. “I singled out a couple schools in the midwest with higher academics I could see playing at.” Yale, Cornell and Dayton were others showing interest in the right-handed hitting, left-handed throwing outfielder. But it was Lafayette, located in Easton, Pa. - six hours from Amendola’s home - that proved to be the perfect fit. “I went to their camp in the winter,” Amendola reflected. “They came to see me at the (PBR) Ohio Elite showcase (Feb. 16) and I have been in communication with them a couple months.” |
