With 2023 now in the past, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage that can be found anywhere in 2024. Starting in February, we began releasing team previews for squads across the state. Ahead, we will have Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings coming your way.

2024 Spring Team Preview: Wynford Royals

Team Name: Wynford Royals
Head Coach: Tom Smith
Division: III
2023 Record: 20-8
2023 Tourney Finish: District loss to Oak Harbor
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 6/3

Coach Outlook: "We have the ability to compete for a league championship and possibly challenge in the district. If everyone can improve enough for us to plug the 3 holes vacated by some good seniors from last year we can have another successful season."

2024 Team Strengths:

  • We have 4 very good seniors leading the team. This includes our top 2 pitchers, 3 best hitters, and our catcher.

Top Returning Players:

  • Grant McGuire, 3B/1B, 2024, 4 year starter, committed to USC Upstate. .500BA, 5 HR, 15 doubles, triple crown winner for league, District POY, 1st Team All Ohio.
  • Spencer Miller, P/SS, 2024, 4 year starter, .417BA, 8-3 w/ 1.99ERA.
  • Kaiden Blair, P/OF, 2024, 3 year starter, .383BA, 5-0 w/ 1.18ERA.
  • Drew Johnson, P/INF, 2025.
  • Brett Crall, C, 2024, Excellent defensive catcher.
  • Collin Hulsmeyer, C/P/utility, 2026.
