Pitching Notes
Jake Hanley OF / RHP / Mason, OH / 2024Report: The 6-foot-4 two-way talent got the ball to start for Team Ohio. Fastball hovered in the low 80s (up to 84 this summer). Mixed in a playable breaking ball. High spin rate guy on both offerings. Much like his profile as a position guy the ceiling is high. FB: 80-81mph, 2000-2200rpms

Samuel Slodic SS / RHP / Notre Dame Cathedral Latin, OH / 2022Rankings StateRank: 27 / POS: 9
Report: One of the top two-way talents in the state has stock go way up on the mound. Obvious athleticism, fast arm and spun a hammer of a breaking ball. Struck out two of three in his inning of work. Definitely rose his stock with a very strong week. FB: 83-86mph, 1950-2200rpm
|
Colin Ames RHP / 3B / Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, OH / 2022Rankings StateRank: 36 / POS: 12
Report: A power arm on Team Ohio’s roster. Comes right at hitters with a fastball that was up to 88mph. Also showed he was more than just velocity as he settled into tossing the slider consistently in the zone. Completing his arsenal is a bigger shaped breaker and serviceable changeup. The top two pitches on this day was Fastball/Slider which he started mixing very well towards the end of the outing. FB: 86-88mph, 1850-2100rpm

Tyler Barni RHP / 1B / Walsh Jesuit, OH / 2022Rankings StateRank: 33 / POS: 10
Report: Barni continues to get closer to that huge ceiling of his, turning in the best outing we’ve seen from him yet. Combination of 6-foot-6 frame, 7feet of extension and lower spin rates make him a tough guy to barrel for hitters from either side of the plate. K’d the side in his 1st inning and threw two scoreless frames. FB: 83-85mph, 1750-1900rpm
|
Ryan Piech RHP / OF / Walsh Jesuit, OH / 2023Rankings StateRank: 11 / POS: 4
Report: Very solid showing for the young mound prospect, tossing two scoreless while getting the save for Team Ohio in a 9-7 win over New Jersey. While you can pretty much pencil in Piech as being a mid to upper 80s arm at minimum before it’s all said and done it was the breaking ball that impressed in this outing. The youngster dropped in the above average offering often, keeping the New Jersey hitters off balance. FB: 82-83mph, (86 last week) 1900-2100rpm

Position Player Notes
Brady Shannon 3B / OF / Youngstown Ursuline, OH / 2022Rankings StateRank: 42 / POS: 1
Report: The workout MVP had a monster performance at the plate. One base with every trip to the plate turning in a multi hit/multi RBI day. The type of prospect you stop and watch when he’s at the plate because there’s always a possibility you’re going to see something special from. The 6-foot-3 prospect has earned D1 baseball/football offers and expect the baseball list to grow after putting on an absolute show in BP while also proving the swing translates to game.
|
Blake Bowen 3B / SS / Wooster, OH / 2023Rankings StateRank: 16 / POS: 1
Report: One of the more electric 2023 hit tools the state has to offer. Put together quality at bats throughout the weekend and had a multi hit day at the plate against New Jersey. Looked unbothered by velocity, showing the ability to turn on the baseball. The upside is obvious in the box for Bowen. Also played well at the hot corner throughout the showcase.

Samuel Slodic SS / RHP / Notre Dame Cathedral Latin, OH / 2022Rankings StateRank: 27 / POS: 9
Report: Slodic really helped himself this week. Consistently barrelled up baseballs in all three games with his offensive performance highlighted by an RBI triple against New Jersey. The hit tool has made big strides from when we saw him at the same event last year.
|
Parker Corbin SS / C / Cincinnati Country Day, OH / 2024The young ball player has not been phased by the bright lights this week, and has produced numerous barrels/quality at bats. High follow for the 2024 class!
|
Connor Walendzak OF / SS / Perrysburg, OH / 2023Rankings StateRank: 25 / POS: 5
The 2023 OF followed Shannon with an RBI double of his own to keep things going for Team Ohio in the 5th. The right-handed hitter continues to find barrels and put solid swings on balls this week. Two-sport athlete, with a Grade A makeup!
