2019 Future 50 At Ohio State - Class Of 2023 - Sneak Peek: The Arms

Ponch Gaich RHP / OF / St. Ignatius, OH / 2023

Body Type: 5-foot-11, 160-pound very athletic frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Uptempo delivery with obvious athleticism on the mound. Arm works through an over the top slot that creates a tough plane for hitters. Drop and drive type.
Fastball: 80-83 mph. Ball jumps out of the hand. Fastball was up to 83 mph with low 90s spin efficiency.
Curveball: 65-67 mph. Bigger shape than the slider with some depth to it. When he got on top of it, it was really sharp.
Slider: 73-74 mph. Hammer of a breaking ball when in the zone. Spins it will with late, sharp bite to it.
Pitchability: Arguably the most feel for the zone we’ve seen him have.
Additional Comments: One of the top arms in the state stuff wise that dominated in his outing.
