Scouting Report

6/28/23

Physical: 5-7, 175 pounds; Average, slight build. 7.46 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet shoulder width apart; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Short take back with the hands with a slight leg-kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with a finish around the back.  More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 89 MPH via Trackman.

Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep hop while playing low to the ground. Hands are out in front while funneling to the hip before transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot. INF - 79 MPH.

Pitching: Uses a center rubber setup while using a side step. Belt high leg drive with a slight lean over the belt. Has a moderate stride while landing slightly open. Moderate arm swing while wrist hooks behind back; standard 3/4 slot. Spins off 1B side with finish. FB: Peak velo of 80 MPH, while sitting 77-79 MPH; straight action. 

2/20/23

Physical: 5-foot-7, 175 pounds; Sturdy, athletic build. 7.91 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; has a pre-pitch bat waggle. Short take back with the hands with a slight leg-kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a compact swing path with a a finish around the back.  More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 92 MPH via Trackman. Showed good rhythm in the swing with a quick barrel through the zone.

Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep hop while displaying fluid actions to the baseball. Hands are out in front with a clean transfer. Long arm swing from a standard 3/4 arm slot.  INF - 82 MPH. 

6/27/22

Physical: 5-foot-7, 153 pounds; Athletic, broad shouldered build. 7.41 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Loads straight back with an up and down stride for timing. Slides weight forward pre-contact. while showing a strong lower half. Showed a flat swing path with a one-handed finish.  More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 91 MPH via Trackman.

Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; uses prep step while playing low to the ground. Hands are out in front while funneling to the hip before transfer. Moderate arm circle while using various arm slots.  INF - 78 MPH.

7/06/21

Physical: 5-foot-6, 148 pounds; Muscular, proportional build. 7.69 runner in the 60.

Offensively
: RHH. Open setup, with feet shoulder width apart; has a pre-pitch bat waggle. Short take back with the hands with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a compact swing path with a two handed finish.  More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 82 MPH via Trackman.

Defensively
: Starts with a low to the ground setup; uses prep hop while covers ground laterally. Hands are out in front with a seamless transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot.  INF - 74 MPH.

Pitching
: Savino uses a center rubber setup while using a side step. Mid chest leg drive with a slight lean over the belt. Has a moderate stride landing inline with the plate. Moderate arm swing while effortless with fluidity, while working through a standard 3/4 slot. Upright with finish. FB: Peak velo of 74 MPH, while sitting 72-73 MPH; arm side run. CB: 60-61 MPH; slurve  like action.  CH: 63-65 MPH; sinks. 

4/03/21

Physical: 5-foot-6, 148LBS. 7.89SEC 60-Yard Dash.

Offensively: RHH. Advanced presence in the batters box. Balanced, slightly open stance. Hands are free and easy as the go through to load. Bow & arrow load as the barrel gets into a position that creates a strong attack angle. Uses a leg hang as a timing mechanism as weight transfers to the backside. Has some barrel whip into the hitting zone. Quality swing with obvious projectability. 

Defensively: SS. Uses a hop as prep and gets into a wide, balanced base. Maintains a low chest angle as the ground ball approaches. Proper glove presentation and fields the ball out front. Funnels to belt line. Shuffles toward 1B and releases in an efficient manor. Can throw on the run and has athleticism throughout his game.
