Scouting Report

2/13/22

Physical: 5-foot-9, 180 pounds; Sturdy  build. 8.12 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; has a pre-pitch bat waggle. Short take back with the hands with a toe-tap for timing. Slides weight forward pre-contact. while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a direct swing path with finish around the back. More groundballs than line drives and flyballs with a peak exit velocity of 83 MPH via Trackman. Consistent down and hard contact.

Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep step while showing active feet. Hands are soft while funneling to the hip before transfer. Moderate arm circle while using various arm slots. INF - 78 MPH.

Pitching: Uses a center rubber setup while using a side step. Mid chest leg drive with a slight lean over the belt. Has a long stride landing inline with the plate. Moderate arm swing while arm stays in line with 2B; high 3/4 slot. Square to the plate with finish. FB: Peak velo of 75 MPH, while sitting 74-75 MPH; arm side run with sink. SL: 65-67 MPH; lateral action. CH: 68-70 MPH; fading action.

7/06/21

Physical: 5-foot-8, 175 pounds; Muscular, broad shouldered build. 8.38 runner in the 60.

Offensively
: RHH. Open setup, with feet shoulder width apart; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Lifts hands with a moderate leg kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an aggressive lower half. Showed a direct swing path with a one-handed finish.  More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 82 MPH via Trackman.

Defensively
: Starts with an upright /tall setup; walks into ready position while laid back. Hands are out in front with a clean transfer. Moderate arm circle from a high 3/4 arm slot.  INF - 72 MPH. 

 

3/01/20

Physical: Lean, compact frame. 8.65 runner in the 60; 5.09 home-to-1B.
Offensively: RHH. Crouched stance with his weight on his back foot, hands just above shoulders, uses a small bat waggle along with a small leg kick for timing Hands are quick to the ball, short direct barrel path working uphill at finish. Hard contact to pull-side gap and up the middle. 70 MPH raw exit velocity.
Defensively: Gets low with the ball, fields the ball on the inside of his arm foot and funnels the ball into his stomach. Medium arm swing with a high 3/4 arm slot. INF - 63 MPH.
Pitching: Drop step to the side into a high leg lift before striding down and out in line to a repeatable release following through to the plate. Moderate arm swing with 3/4 release. FB: T65, 64-65 MPH. Commands in the zone with some tail. CB: 52-52 MPH.  CH: 57-60 MPH. Good sell with fade.
