The 2021 graduating class here in New York has expanded over the course of the past eight months, going from a top 40 to now 75 deep with 38 new players making the list. From our staff scouting the HS season, summer tournaments, and summer/fall events it's safe to say the amount of new players entering our system is fluid. We now turn our attention to our updated and expanded 2021 rankings here in the empire state.

The 2021 class continues to evolve with high-level talented players. Eight of the top 15 player's are already verbally committed to division-one baseball programs, with several others primed to make those important decisions down the road. We have stretched out the 2021 class to a top 75, which can be viewed HERE, we also created a "Players to Watch" list, for players who just missed making the Top 75 but we expect to make a push come this spring/summer. 

The 2021 updated rankings in NY saw very little movement in the top 10 with No. one-six, eight and nine remaining the same. Unranked and relatively new to our system is No. 7 RHP/SS Roman Kimball (New Hartford HS). Standing 5-foot-9, 140-pounds, lean and projectable, the upstate NY prospect shows super clean actions defensively and a fluid repeatable swing path at the plate. Kimball also pitches, showing upside from the mound with a loose athletic arm, downward action on his pitches, and the quick hand-speed fastball (80-82) that shows consistent late life. When Kimballs name gets brought up in our "prospect room" or with other scouts, the idea of him getting "bigger, faster, stronger" is what's really intriguing. 

 

OF/RHP Coltrane Calloway (Bay Shore HS) enters the back end of the top 10, at No. 10 (moving up three spots). The more we see the Long Island prospect, the more we like his skillset. He's a 7.33 runner in the 60, but moves with better athleticism roaming the OF defensively. The arm is above average with accurate carry and the swing from the left-side is smooth and repeatable, with considerably more juice than expected. The fame (6-foot-1, 165) is wiry and lean with plenty of room for strength gains as he matures.  This is a big spring/summer for Calloway, one that should see him competing at the NYS Games and the National Future Games. 

 

 

Biggest Riser - 3B evan diaz
Up an impressive 27 spots is the athletic All Hallows HS corner infielder Evan Diaz.  Standing a firm 5-foot-9, 165-pounds with a high motor, Diaz really impressed us this past October. Defensively his skill-set is very sound, active lower half with clean quick hands, with above average arm-strength across the field. In the box he's still a work-in-progress, crude with athleticism and bat-speed that are starting to show signs of big-things to come. He runs well, he's strong, he's aggressive and he keeps improving every couple of months. Excited to see him this February.
