Uncommitted Spotlight: 2021 SS/RHP Frankie Demaro (John S Burke Catholic)

Physical: 5-foot-10, 148-pounds. Lean, athletic build.
Run: 7.57 runner in the 60.
Hit: RHH. Athletic base; hands high; feet a little wider than shoulder width; short leg lift and stride; one-handed long finish Solid line drives to the middle and pull side; very consistent swing path and repeatable; occasional long swing with top spin.
Power: 71 MPH raw exit velocity. Power shows more to the middle of the field; hard barrel; flashed pop.
Defense: Slight prep step with a hop for timing; would like to see ball fielded on inside of glove foot more; Fundamental footwork; moves laterally well, slow and controlled.
Arm: Strong arm; lower 3/4 arm slot; quick release. INF - 83 MPH.

Pitching Delivery: Builds momentum with high leg lift where there is a slight turn, sits in back side as he strides out and opens back up to a balanced, repeatable follow through.
Arm Action: Long, loose arm action with a high 3/4 release.
FB: T80, 77-80 MPH. Locates around the zone with late life.
CB: 70-72 MPH. 11-5 action with tight break.

The 2021 dual player had a good showing at the 2019 Fall Top Prospect Games. At the plate, the right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance. Quick direct path to the baseball. Frankie gets full extension after the point of contact and stays balanced throughout the swing. Defensively, displayed active footwork. Smooth funnel actions and quick release from a high ¾ arm slot. On the mound, the right handed pitcher displayed a repeatable delivery. Impressive outing during live game actions. Delivery has tempo and comes right at you. Plus FB command down in the zone which peaked at 82 MPH. CB has sharp late break and ranged from 72-74 MPH. The 2021 graduate is a must follow.

5-foot-9, 135-pounds with lean and developing frame. Offensively - Wide, balanced stance with relaxed hands. Low forward stride. Creates consistent separation with hands as he gets into landing. Bat gets on plane with the ball early and stays level thru the zone. Hands stay tight to the body and work inside of the ball. Exit velocity was 73 MPH. Defensively - Fluid, balanced actions at SS. Body stays stacked over the ball while receiving. Throws out of low ¾ slot after quick exchange. Soft glove hand. Moves laterally with balance. Arm strength was 76 MPH. Pitching - Mechanically sound, low effort delivery. Loads weight into back hip with high leg lift. Lands in line with target and produces considerable hip to shoulder separation. Quick, projectable arm action. ¾ release point. Athletic, aggressive finish on all offerings. FB sat 76-77 MPH and peaked at 78. CB came it at 68-69 MPH. CH sat 70-72 MPH with arm side run.
