5-foot-8, 153-pound, strong, firm athletic frame. Sloped shoulders, strength throughout, already filling out, will be put together well. A right-handed hitting catcher/outfielder, showed well, on both sides of the field. The overall athletic ability is probably his top tool. At the plate, taller stance, slightly open, hands are at the shoulders, with a tilted setup. The swing is short and crisp, hard contact, keeps his hands inside the baseball, working the baseball from field to field. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 79 mph, has enough pop to beat the pull side. Runs very well ran the sixty-yard dash in 6.97, feet are extremely quick, gets off the blocks well. Defensively, threw 77 mph down to second base, with a pop time of 2.14-2.20. Works low to the ground, moves, blocks and scrambles, shows easy hands on the catch. From the outfield threw 77 mph, arm action is short, quick and clean from a 3/4 slot. the footwork is correct in transfer. Projects for me more as a catcher, moves very well behind the plate, has enough arm to stick. Brings a ton of value, could play all three outfield spots.
Tee Exit Velocity: 79 mph
Arm Velocity: 77 mph
Sixty-yard Dash: 6.97
At the plate, the right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance. Short simple load actions. Displayed a short compact swing during batting practice at the Fall Last Chance event. The 2021 graduate stays balanced throughout the swing. Hard consistent contact to the middle part of the field. As an outfielder, the 2021 graduate uses his active footwork to gain momentum on throws to the plate. Does a good job staying under control when approaching the baseball. As a catcher, he receives the baseball slightly off center and has an above average exchange. Capobianco has a quick release and improve in his pop time at the fall event. Capobianco is a projectable player that is athletic enough to play all over the field.
