Scouting Report
Physical: 5-foot-9, 150-pounds. Lean athletic frame with square shoulders and strong legs.
Run: 7.31 runner in the 60.
Hit: RHH. Simple square stance with bat on his shoulder; Quiet load with small leg kick Flat barrel through the zone with solid contact through the ball.
Power: 83 MPH raw exit velocity. Strong gap to gap power.
Defense: pop times. INF: Choppy approach to the ball; Smooth movement through the ball with soft hands.
Arm: Short, quick, compact arm action. INF - 78 MPH.
Offensively, the right handed hitter displayed a quick direct path to the baseball. Fast twitch hitting actions. Ruth had an impressive round of batting practice at the Fall Top Prospect games. Defensively, Ruth displayed his athletic ability showcasing as an OF and INF at the Fall Top Prospect games. As an outfielder, Ruth has an aggressive approach to the baseball. Gets rid of the ball quickly. As an infielder, Ruth gets to a good fielding position before attacking the baseball. Ruth’s active footwork allows him to play all over the field. Ruth increased his positional velocity from 75 to 79 MPH in the defensive workout. The 2021 graduate is a must follow.
A lean 5-foot-9, 140 pounds. Offensively- the right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance. Works off a slight leg lift for timing and balanced. Short compact swing. Stays balanced throughout the swing. Exit velocity was 81 MPH. Defensively- the infielder displayed active footwork. Takes his time to gather himself before throwing the baseball. The top throwing velocity as 75 MPH.
A lean 5-foot-8, 135 pounds. Ran a 8.05 60 yard dash. Offensively- Tall stance with hands close to the body. Simple load before attacking the baseball. A flat barrel in the hitting zone with two hand finish. Balanced throughout the swing. Exit velocity was 76 MPH. Defensively- Active footwork fields the ball slightly off center. Average transfer to a quick release from a ¾ arm slot. Throws across the diamond peaked at 66 MPH
