Top Performer Report
'24 MIF Dominick Russ (Horseheads) is a smooth, high ceiling prospect. Russ is still maturing physically but the frame and intangibles are there. Russ hits from the left side with a swing that has little slack in it. Russ shoots the hands in a direct approach to the ball and peppers line drives to all parts of the field. The power potential is there, as with any young prospect with room to grow, but even more so with Russ as he swings under control with sound movements. Russ stands out in the field at SS. With easy feet and clean routes to the ball, Russ has the makings of a traditional middle infielder. Russ will continue to develop physically and his measurables will reflect that. While exit velo and arm strength across the infield don't always directly reflect talent, it would help Russ stand out even more. The arm strength is what would set him ahead of the pack and help Russ shoot up in the rankings and draw even more attention from coaches at the next level.
