It was a historic preseason here in New York with our boots-on-the-ground scouting staff covering 700+ players at showcase events, all February long. The dust has settled and we are now ramping up our efforts in player rankings, scouting reports, and recap articles. Scouting Report
Physical: 5-foot-9, 132-pounds. Lean frame. 7.3 runner in the 60; 4.38 home-to-1B.
Offensively: LHH. Wide stance stays level to the plate, knees slightly bent, bat kept high, quick step to the ball Sprays the ball to all parts of the field, long swing, contact hitter. Contact hitter. 78 MPH raw exit velocity.
Defensively: Steady footwork, smooth crow hops, consistent release. Long, over the top release. OF - 80 MPH.
Pitching: Slowly builds up with short drop step and high leg lift before accelerating down in line to a repeatable release and balanced follow through. Long, fast arm action with 3/4 release. FB: T80, 78-80 MPH. Commands in the zone with arm side run. CB: 64-66 MPH. Sharp 1-7 break with depth. SL: 70-71 MPH. Slurve action. CH: 72-73 MPH. Maintains hand speed with arm side fade.
Quick Hit
"Big and wide stance at the plate, bat starts flat and pointed down at the ground behind his head. Small leg lift to a heavy lean to his backside for a load. Attacks the ball defensively coming through it with good momentum. Fields it clean outside his glove foot and crop-hops into a low throw. On the mound he tends to fill up the zone with low fastballs working the knees. Slow start then speeds up pace in delivery. A lot of spin to his off-speed pitches."
