Top Performer Spotlight: 2021 OF Nicholas Vega (Fordham Prep)
July 18, 2019
Since June 7th, our boot-on-the-ground scouting team have seen 500+ players at showcase events, including the 2019 NYS Games. Already, 100's of players have caught the eyes of our professional scouting staff, all with dreams of playing baseball at the next-level. Over the remainder of the summer I (Dan Cevette) will be highlighting "Top Performer Spotlights" on players who really stood-out and offering my "Quick-Hit" thoughts on the players.

CEVETTE's QUICK HIT
CEVETTE'S QUICK HIT: At first glance, Vega passes the initial eye test, standing 6-foot-3, 190-pounds, and a frame that's able to handle more growth. Defensively, he's a corner OF at the next-level with a strong, above average arm (87 mph). When he steps in the box, everyone took notice. The contact was loud, the barrel was loose and quick, showing high end bat-speed and strength (96 mph). Vega, who earned his way onto Team NY for the Future Games, has a chance to be a high-octane type player as he continues to develop.
