Ohio Longhorns
PBR Ohio Scout
Jack Mathey C / 2B / Copley, OH / 2021Report: By no means is this prospect the biggest guy on the field but that does not phase this kid. The two-hole for the Longhorns wasted no time early hammering a double to deep LC in his first AB. Seems like each opportunity we get to see him he continues to get a little more physical. Second AB, wasted no time hopping on the first fastball for a two-RBI single to LF. Keeps it fairly simple in the box with an aggressive approach looking to do damage early in the count. One of the more impressive things is the limited amount of swing and miss. When he picks on a pitch it is bound to be connected. |
LAKE ERIE WARHAWKS (ABRAHAMOWICZ) 15U
PBR Ohio Assistant Scouting Director
Samuel Seidel SS / 2B / South Central, OH / 2022Rankings StateRank: 22 / POS: 6
Report: Currently ranked no. 22 overall in Ohio’s class of 2022. Hit first in the lineup and played second base during two games. A top of the order left-handed bat who played that role very well. Also a talented defender with fluid footwork, fielding the ball with his hands out in front of his body. Has good balance and plate discipline. He was 1-3 with a double, four walks, and a stolen base. Squared up the baseball the other three times that he didn’t walk. Waited on a curveball and hit a double to right field. Uses his speed well on the bases. |
Dylan Bailey SS / 2B / Amherst Steele, OH / 2021Rankings StateRank: 64 / POS: 13
Report: Currently ranked no. 64 overall in Ohio’s class of 2021. Played in the outfield and hit third in the lineup in two games played. All I've seen Bailey do is square up the baseball this summer and he continued that trend on this day. Can make hard contact with present strength/quick hands to all parts of the field and there is more to come as he continues to mature physically. In two games he was 3-6 with two singles, triple, two stolen bases, and four RBI’s. Showed some oppo strength when he tripled over the right fielder’s head. Showed his baseball savviness when he hit a single to the right fielder, who bobbled the baseball for a brief moment and he took advantage of it, taking the extra base. High follow. |
