Scouting Report on Chase
Nate Chase 3B (Webster Schroeder HS, NY 2015)
Chase stands 6-foot-0 180-pound and athletic. At the plate his setup is balanced with his hands high. He shifts his weight back with a back load and strides before the swing. He has a slight incline in his swing and a nice high finish. His exit velocity is 81 mph.
At 3B he uses good baseball actions around the baseball and keeping his body moving after the throw. He throws from a low 3/4 slot at 77 mph. He keeps his feet moving after the throw and ran a 7.31 60.
Analysis:
Chase has a baseball body and athleticism to play 3B at the next level. He uses good body placement and footwork moving towards firstbase from third. Batting he looks strong with a nice athletic swing, extension and high finish. I like his gap to gap power potential. He is still a work in progress and is coming off a minor injury. He will be 100 percent at our NYS Top Prospect Games Aug 16th and we look forward to seeing him in action.
