As a high school junior, he posted a pitching line of 33.2 innings pitched, 21 hits, 33 walks, and 66 strikeouts, while also hitting .365 with five walks against two strikeouts.
Maryvale (NY) 2017 IF/RHP Anthony Hernandez had a strong junior season as a two-way player. The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder hit .421 with 11 extra base hits, seven stolen bases, and more BB than K. On the mound, he was an extreme strike-thrower, posting a line of 31 innings pitched, 27 hits, four walks, and 35 strikeouts.
