As we kick off our Preseason All-State tour this weekend, we highlight some returning players that we are excited to see the results from an off season of training.
2020 Preseason All-State - Southern Tier
JACKSON COOK / C / OF / HORSEHEADS, NY / 2023Rankings StateRank: 6 / POS: 3
The 2023 showed his athleticism during the Junior Future Games. Cook improved his arm strength and exit velocity. The left handed hitter had quality at bat after quality at bats during the live game action. Wiry 5-foot-10, 130 pounds frame. Offensively, the left handed hitter setups with feet shoulder width apart. Quick direct path to the hitting zone. Displayed pull side pop. Defensively, the C has a strong arm and has fast twitch actions behind the dish. |
CASEY VAUGHN / RHP / OF / CBA - SYRACUSE , NY / 2023Rankings StateRank: 3 / POS: 1
The 2023 RHP/OF has major potential. The RHP peaked at 80 MPH during the Junior Future Games. Displayed a plus action CB with tight spin at 65-68 MPH. Vaughn has a lanky projectable 6-foot-1, 150 pounds frame. Vaughn also had an impact offensively putting pressure on the defense. Quick on the bases.

DYLAN TIERNEY / SS / 3B / COLUMBIA, NY / 2021Rankings StateRank: 118 / POS: 21
At the plate, the right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance and feet shoulder width apart. Tierney uses a slight leg lift and short stride towards the pitcher for balanced and timing before attacking the hitting zone. The 2021 graduate displayed hard contact to the pull side during batting practice at the Top Prospect Games. Defensively, Tierney was a standout during the defensive portion at the Top Prospect Games. Fields the baseball slightly off center and displayed smooth funnel actions. Throws the baseball from a mid 3/4 arm slot. Tierney is a must follow. |
AIDAN CHAMBERLIN / RHP / OF / CORNING , NY / 2022Rankings StateRank: 18 / POS: 7
Has a projectable athletic frame at 6-foot-2,175 pounds. Ran a 7.20 in the 60 yard dash. Defensively- Showed active footwork. Gets himself in a good athletic position before fielding the baseball. Fields the baseball slightly off center. Shows above average funnel actions. Has a smooth transition and throws from a high ¾ arm slot. Top throwing velocity across the diamond was 79 MPH. Pitching- The RHP displayed a repeatable delivery and a loose live arm. Has smooth mechanics. Works off a mid high knee lift and a easy low effort hand separation and works downhill from a balanced back side. FB has late life and peaked at 82 MPH. Breaking ball has late depth down in the zone at 65-67 MPH. The 2022 graduate is a must follow. |
BRENT ISAACS / SS / 3B / WHITNEY POINT, NY / 2021Rankings StateRank: 156 / POS: 28
Isaacs improved his 60 yard dash from the Top Prospect games earlier in the fall. Isaacs ran a 7.00 in the 60 yard dash. At the plate, Isaacs had an impressive round at the Last Chance event. Drove the ball to the pull side and in the gaps. Gets good use of the lower half throughout the swing. A lot more is in the tank for the 2021 graduate. Defensively, Isaacs worked out at short. He gets himself in a good position before and when fielding the baseball. Displayed accurate throws across the diamond. On the mound, Isaacs displayed a repeatable delivery. Delivery has tempo. Isaacs works with a short arm action and feel for three pitches. CB has a tight early spin and feel for a CH down in the zone. The 2021 graduate continues to improve every event. Isaacs will be a good follow as he continues to develop. |
