NJ State Games: 12 Uncommitted 2019 Pitchers to Watch

The New Jersey State Games are just days away and it's time to highlight some of the top uncommitted players that will be attending the event. Up and down the ‘19 and ‘20 class, this event will be stacked with talent that will play at the next level, whichever level that will be. Today we start with the top uncommitted pitchers that will be at the event on the 24th.

Uncommitted 2019 Pitchers

Dominic Buonadonna, RHP, Millville HS, NJ
It’s crazy to believe that Buonadonna is still available here in July, as the right hander is consistently in the mid-80s from a high-¾ slot. The 6-foot 175-pounder has a lanky build and feel for an 11/5 breaking ball for strikes. Expect Buondonna to perform at a high level on Tuesday.

Dante Ciaramella, RHP, Monmouth Regional HS, NJ
After a very successful spring campaign for Monmouth Regional, Ciaramella gained the reputation as “the stopper” in the Shore Conference for the Falcons. The 6-foot 170-pound righty consistently sits 84-87 and will touch 88-89 as well. Where he separates himself from the rest of the pack is his command of two advanced offspeed pitches. His breaking ball has sharp 11/5 tilt that he uses as a true strikeout pitch and he has a changeup with sink and run that keeps left handers off balance.

Chad Cole, RHP, Passaic Valley HS, NJ
An injury put Cole on the shelf for his 2017 campaign, and just started to come into his own in 2018. Cole’s frame, similar to that of Ciaramella and Buonadonna at 6-foot-1 150-pounds has plenty of room to fill out. He has long, wiry-athletic limbs and a long, clean arm action. Another guy who can command an 11/5 breaker for strikes – Cole relies on a true swing-and-miss changeup that he throws to all hitters.

Ryan Crehan, LHP, Peddie School, NJ
Crehan is a recent re-classified player. At 6-foot-2 185-pounds, Crehan’s build is there and the arm action works from a high-¾ slot. At last year’s NJ State Games, Crehan was up to 79 MPH with a breaker for strikes… But that was one calendar year ago. Expect Crehan to make a jump in velocity in this go-around and have some college coaches talking.

Aidan Hallquist, RHP, Hawthorne HS, NJ
Hallquist has a long, lanky build at 6-foot-1 165-pounds and has been up to 83-84 on the bump. With a shorter, quicker arm action with a slurvy breaker for strikes, expect Hallquist to contribute in great ways to the talent in the 2019 class at this event.

Dylan Heine, RHP, Haddonfield Memorial HS, NJ
Another long, lanky frame at 6-foot-5 193-pounds, Heine’s projectablility is unquestioned. With a fastball already into the mid 80s, Heine will be one of the pitchers at the event that all coaches will keen in on. Clean, ultra loose arm from a high-¾ slot, Heine’s inning of work will be hawked by coaches.

Jack Kramer, RHP, St. Peter’s Prep HS, NJ
Kramer has a broad shouldered, athletic build at 5-foot-11 170-pounds – has been up to 83 MPH and sits mostly 82-83 on the bump with a long, loose arm and feel for a breaker for strikes as well.

John-Biagio Modugno, RHP, Don Bosco Prep HS, NJ
Modugno’s successes on the baseball field in 2018 have been well documented with PBR New Jersey’s scouts. Up to 88 MPH, Modugno is 6-foot-6 and possess an 11/5 breaking ball that he drops in for strikes with gradual break.

Ryan OHara, RHP, Red Bank Catholic HS, NJ
O’Hara has been a true under-the-radar type player – probably because he can play almost every position on the field (he will be doing some catching). In th winter, O’Hara was up to 86 and sat 83-85 in a bullpen setting at the .9ers Baseball Club Scout Day. He has put on some lean muscle since we first saw him as a freshman in 2016.

Kevin Seitter, RHP, Ridgewood HS, NJ
Seitter will surely create some buzz at the event as well. During the spring season he was one of the top starters on a Ridgewood staff that won the North I Group IV championship. He sits in the low to mid 80s and will touch an 86 occasionally.

Marco Siracusa, LHP, Bergen Catholic HS, NJ
Siracusa is a crafty lefty that possesses a 1/7 breaking ball that he can drop in in any count. He’s got a shorter, quicker arm action and primarily sits in the low 80s with his fastball. A long, lanky build, Siracusa will fill out and be a nice addition to a pitching staff.

Gabe Spiegel, RHP, SAR Academy HS, NY
Spiegel is consistently in the low to mid 80s with a lean, projectable frame at 6-foot-2 175-pounds. Spiegel throws from a high-¾ slot and has some late life on his fastball, with a curveball he uses as an out pitch as well.
