Moore and Vogt deliver on a night of walk-offs

Gavin Moore (Hilton) capped a three-run seventh with a two-out, two-run walk-off single as DI Wiktorski improved to .500 on the season in Upstate Baseball League action played at Basket Road Field, Monday night. Moore went opposite field with an 0-2 pitch to plate Tyler Smith (Fairport) with the tying run and Ryan Lukas (Victor) with the game-winner as DI Wiktorski won its fourth game against four losses. Raymond Specht (Rush-Henrietta) sparked the rally with a one-out walk. Smith singled, and Specht came home on an error to cut the deficit to one and set up Moore’s heroics. Jesse Kabat (Mynderse) struck out one over two shutout innings in relief for the win. Rob Oliveri (Hilton) started and hurled four shutout innings before running into trouble in the fifth. The right-hander set down the first six he faced without allowing a ball out of the infield. He needed just 43 pitches to get through the first four frames. DI Christiano took advantage of three errors to grab a 3-1 lead in the fifth. Tyler Holmes (Fairport) reached on a fielding miscue and scored on a Jorge Oropeza (Greece Athena) opposite field double. DI Christiano starter Jake LaPlant (Williamson) helped his own cause with a triple in the right center gap scoring Oropeza. Nate Sanderson (Rush-Henrietta) made it a two-run game with an RBI groundout. LaPlant allowed one run on four hits over five innings of work. The right-hander fanned three and walked one. Oropeza was the only batter to finish with multiple hits going 2-for-3. Jake Loewke (Churchville-Chili) came on in relief for DI Christiano and tossed one scoreless inning. Kabat and Oliveri combined to not issue a walk.
DI Graham 3 DI Bunting 2
Nick Vogt (Webster Schroeder) hurled shutout innings in relief and finished 2-for-3 on the night including a walk-off, two-run single as DI Graham held on to first place. Vogt drove in Zeke Humphrey (Charles Finney) with the tying run and Shane Harisis (Eastridge) with the winner. Ryan Hill (Webster Thomas) tossed one shutout inning and improved to 2-0 on the season. Trailing 2-1, Humphrey drew a one-out walk, and Harisis doubled into left center to put the tying and winning runs in scoring position for Vogt. Casey Saucke II (Greece Athena) finished 2-for-3 and gave DI Bunting a 2-1 lead in the fourth when he knocked one of his two doubles on the night and came home on an error as Lucas DeVito (Newark) beat out a bunt and the throw to first bounced into foul territory. Racer Lynch (Geneva) started for DI Bunting and let up one run on three hits over three innings. Kyle Pierce (Geneva) scattered two hits over three shutout innings out of the bullpen. Max Yale (Honeoye) led the game with a single to left and moved 90 feet on an Alfredo Alponte (School of the Arts) sacrifice bunt. Jake Ring (Pittsford-Mendon) gave DI Bunting the early lead with a base hit.
