Our first event of 2017 was at the All Pro Sports Field House in East Setauket, NY. Frank Dolan of Sports and Fitness Performance of Islip kicked things off with an active warm up and was gratuitous enough to stick around and offer some tips for quick starts, base stealing and answer questions.

The staff at All Pro had been working hard to get a brand-new batting cage installed. The larger then life cage allowed players and coaches to track the flight of the ball. The flexibility of the cage also allowed for the outfielders to let there throws loose at a respectable distance.

Conditions were cool but comfortable indoors with average play turf. Home-to-1B times were off a "hit stick" and stop watch. Exit Velocity recorded from a tee. With nearly 70 players in attendance we had an abundance of above average catchers who "stole" the show, several registering at least one sub 2.0 pop time with many sitting in the 2.00-2.1 range. Overall we will see a number of players from this event make there way into our constantly updated New York rankings.
